Cro Jack
Cro'jack draws inspiration from British history, functionality and with a military influence, the aim of Cro’jack is to create clothing with attention to detail using (where possible) all British fabrics and components.
The desire to produce fantastic quality garments using British know-how is something paramount to the Cro'jack brand and design team. All their outerwear is produced in their own factory; with the facilities including a quilting plant, a webbing plant, a dye house and an embroidery plant. In addition to this Cro'jack is also working closely with a handful of famous old mills that are helping to develop unusual finishes and treatments seen in their garments.
Two of the founders of Cro’jack, Dean and Lisa Batty, have spent the majority of their lives working in the clothing industry and it shows. Between them and their partner, LS Manufacturing, they are highly qualified to launch something new to the world of fashion.

Having spent many years in London working with a few well known designers, Lisa then went on to head up the design team for Belstaff. Latterly she worked for Paul Smith and for the last couple of years has helped Dean with the design of Cro’jack. She now makes all the Cro’jack patterns, hence the fantastic fit.
Dean has also worked for some very well known brands such as Napapijri, Masons and Fiorucci. It was partly due to the takeover of Napapijri some five years ago by the American giant VF that Dean and Lisa decided that starting something of their own was long overdue.
Cro’jack’s USP is ‘Made in England’ and is produced at their own factory in the West Midlands. Other product groups such as knitwear, bags, trousers and jeans are all sourced and produced by local factories keeping with the brands patriotic ideals.
This 'Britishness' can even be found in the brands name. During the reign of Elizabeth I, a Cro'jack or cross jack was invented to fit the mizzen mast of a galleon. Pronounced crojeck, this complicated wooden design changed the face of early sailing giving the first British Navy the upper hand in manoeuvrability and speed. Before Elizabeth I the British Isles was impoverished but the Navy changed all that with the invention of the cross-jack playing a big part in the expansion of the nations wealth therefore what better concept for a brand that is very proud to be part of this seafaring nation.
Cro'jack hope to respect all the industries and associated trades that helped shape Britain; delving back into history to develop garments in the spirit of our salty sea dog forefathers and all the merchants and tradesmen and the clothes and uniforms worn by them over the ages.
